Women's Institute

The Women's Institute in Datchet was founded in March 1948. The organisation is affiliated to the  Berkshire Federation of Women's Institutes.

In its early days meetings took place in St. Mary's school, however, in 1955, the current W.I. Hall was opened. The hall, which is situated behind the post office on The Green, was gifted to Datchet W.I. by the late George Scott, who built extensively in the village.

There are around 35 members who attend the monthly meetings which follow an interesting and varied programme. Twice-yearly there are meetings with the Swan Group of W.I. organisations from villages around the local geographical area.
