The Datchet Village Society
has three main aims:
1. To preserve, protect,
improve and develop the character of Datchet
2. To promote high standards of architecture and planning
in Datchet
3. To stimulate public interest in the history and natural
history of the
village
The society organises visits
to local places of interest, undertakes historical village
walks as well as publishing books and brochures on local
themes. Recent books
include Datchet Past by Janet Kennish and Datchet
: A Millennium View by Rob
Gordon. A major project is concerned with the
archaeological investigation of a local
prehistoric site at Southlea Farm, Datchet.
